Practise using 'both of', 'either of' and 'neither of' with pronouns and determiners. 'Both of' takes a plural verb ('Both of them are...'). In formal English, 'either of' and 'neither of' take a singular verb ('Neither of them is...'). Also learn mid-position 'both': 'They are both...' / 'We both...'.
