Learn the three-way contrast. 'No' + noun = 'not any' + noun (There are no tickets = There aren't any tickets). 'None' replaces a noun already mentioned. 'No one' and 'nothing' are single-word negatives. Remember: never use 'no' or 'nothing' with 'not' — that creates a double negative!
